I really did enjoy the first half of this movie. But then it all went to shit and although I tried to watch it three separate times, I continued to fall asleep. I'm not a fan of DiCaprio anyway, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

I saw Midnight Cowboy last night before bed. It came out in 1969, and at that time, it was given an X-rating. It won three Academy Awards and was the only X-rated film to ever receive Best Picture. It was later re-rated to R a few years later.

I might have to re-watch it again before giving it a rating, but I enjoyed it. I especially liked the cinematography throughout the movie, which was effective in portraying emotion and angst, especially during the flashbacks and flash forwards. Considering this movie came out in the late 60s, it made great use of the film technology of that time.

The plot itself was quite dark. The majority of the movie was set in NYC, which, at the time, was a very "every man for himself"-type place. I felt for the main character as I watched him struggle to survive. The character development and relationships were done well.

I thought it was an interesting movie.

Just finished watching The Raid: Redemption.
It's a damn good movie, not a great plot (Actually could be if fleshed out and had more of a budget) but the action scenes and fighting choreography are damn sure some of the best I've ever seen. Definitely one of my favourite action movies of all time.
If you saw 2012 Dredd (3D) and watch this, remember that it's not a rip off and that The Raid came out first.

Last movie I watched was The Hobbit.

I would have to give it a 7/10

It had fantastic art direction, beautiful scenery, breathtaking sets, brilliant cinematography, intriguing plot, clever dialogue, outstanding characters, nigh-perfect casting, fun action, funny jokes, exceptional special effects etc. But there just seemed to be something lacking in it. It was riddled with the same old cliche's that I've seen a thousand times on screen and it took away from the movie in my opinion. I also believe the story was kinda stretched. You could probably not watch the first 50 minutes of it since it starts out sooo slow. Overall it was good though and I enjoyed it for what it's worth.

Watched The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King a few days ago and the other 2 in the trilogy the day before. My favorite of the 3 has to be The Two Towers because I like how they start the movie off showing what happened to Gandalf and Balrog (the huge fire demon) when he falls on the first movie, I also love the action scenes in the Two Towers.

I think each movie in the trilogy deserves at least 8-9 out of 10.

Last night we watched Snitch. Wasn't bad, I'd probably give it a 7.5/10 just for sticking to the story line, which most new movies seriously fail to do.

Also if you've ever had a loved one stuck in prison unjustly, this film will pull at your heartstrings.

Life of Pi

Bullshit metaphorical predictable movie. Gets four points for being shot so well though. And the animals are uber adorable -- Who doesn't love tigers?!
